Kusaka group celebrated its seven anniversary this year.

If you wish to study at Kusaka group, please contact to Prof. Kusaka and arrange a skype interview with Professor Kusaka before submitting application form for entrance exam.
There are seven ways for international students to join our group.

(1) Graduate student in PhD course

School year starts April, not September.

(2) Graduate student in Master course

(3) Graduate student in Master course

School year starts April, not September.

(4) Non-degree Research Students (Kenkyusei)

International students wishing to pursue graduate degree (master's or doctorate) are encouraged to first enroll the university as a Non-degree Research Students. Admission only requires document evaluation, and there is no examinations. As a Non-degree Research Student, student spends 6 months to a year under Professor Kusaka's supervision to prepare for master or doctor level classes and research activities. Preparation may involve brushing up undergraduate level math/science knowledges, computer skills, and Japanese language training (if students wish to). Non-degree research students have a full access to university facilities (libraries, research equipments, etc) and may benefit from Japanese language courses taught at the International Student Center.

(5) Exchange Research Students (Tokubetsu Kenkyugakusei)

If you are enrolled at a university in your home country and wish to come to the Kusaka group for a short-term (typically from a month to a year), you may study abroad at Tsukuba as an Exchange Research Student. Enrollment as an exchange research student typically only requires agreement between Professor Kusaka and your thesis advisor at your home institute. You must have a research topic within the scope of Kusaka group.

(6) Undergraduate student in G30 course

G30 course, School of Life and Environmental Sciecences

English is used in all classes in this course. G30 course students can study with Japanese students in Colledge of Geoscience when you are senior.
