Abstract


In this study, a research of dynamic influence of buildings on weather in urban area was conducted by numerical experiments. The numerical experiments were conducted using the LES model with MLUCM ( Multi-Layer Urban Canopy Model ). At first, general urban climate was reproduced under the idealized atmospheric conditions with above model in the control experiment. In this experiment, it was confirmed that the urban heat island circulation and other feature of urban climate were reproduced. Then, in order to investigate dynamic influence of buildings on climate, urban sensitivity experiments in which the height of buildings was changed, was conducted. The results showed that although in case no-buildings convergence point in urban heat island circulation was located at center of the urban area, in an experiment in which buildings have a height convergence point was located to boundary of urban and paddy. This indicated that convergence point of urban heat island circulation was changed by dynamic influence of buildings. Moreover outside air entering urban area is delayed by the change of urban heat island circulation. These effects were expressed intensely in the experiment in which buildings were higher. However, the differences of water vapor between these sensitivity experiments were small and the influences on formation of cumulus clouds and precipitation can be unlikely. As a result, it was confirmed that the convergence point of urban heat island circulation is changed by dynamic influence of buildings. However it is unlikely that water vapor convergence impact the formation of clouds and precipitation.
